The base tyre - reTyre One. The only bike tyre you’ll ever need.
- A slick asphalt tyre that works great on its own as a regular bicycle tyre. Optimal design for low rolling resistance.
- Test-winning and durable zip-on technology lets you mount on all reTyre skins.
The fast-rolling, slick tread maximizes traction on asphalt roads and ensures a smooth ride.

- 27.5": 50-584/ 27.5x2.0
- 28" = 42-622/28x1.6
- 29" = 50-622/29x2.0
All reTyre skins are compatible and interchangeable with the reTyre One base tyre of the equivalent diameter.
1. Mount the base tyre on the rim like any conventional tyre and inflate to the recommended tyre pressure noted on the tyre.
2. We recommend that you let the tyre sit on the rim for 24 hours or have a short ride before mounting the skin. This important step will allow the base tyre to expand and reach its normal size; which will guarantee a perfect fit between the skin and the base tire and the optimum conditions for use.
Zipping on skins:
1. Pin position
Attach the starting point to both sides of the tyre before closing the zipper. Check that the starting point is properly attached before you begin to close the zipper.
While closing the zipper, stretch the skin a bit to make sure it fits perfectly. Alternate between the sides while you close the zippers to reduce the resistance. The skin should meet itself at the end.
Finally, when the skin is installed, remember to close the puller into the locked position to secure it.

I've used the base tyres for the last few weeks getting to and from work and they are awesome! They don't slow me down when I stop pedaling like my old tyres use to and in fact I'm now looking to upgrade my cassette and crank because now because I can't pedal fast enough to keep up with the speed increase with the tyres. Highly recommend using them and I'll be buying some skins soon
reTyre One (Wire)
Once mounted, the winter traveler skin are pretty thick, actually too thick for my e-bike (Gazelle Citizen Speed 380) forks. Result : the zippers hit the forks, which is a pitty, it misses just a few mm of slack... I think Retyre should beware the customer and specify the total width of the tire with skin mounted (including zippers), maybe as a function of the wheel's width.
